Less than a month before the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) is expected to make its decision on which city will enter the bidding process for Germany, Berlin’s Mayor and Senator for the Interior and Sports remarks on the clarity of signals set forth by Berlin’s citizens in support of the bid:
“We have good conditions for sustainable Olympic and Paralympic Games in Berlin: the enthusiasm, the experience in organizing major events and the existing sports facilities. Games like these can strengthen and connect competitive sports and the sports for the masses. We have a chance to develop long-term effects on the economic, environmental and infrastructural settings in Berlin and to promote a sense of community through sports in our city. We want to make the best of the opportunity presented to us.
