The morning in one of Berlin’s most important destinations started with an exciting event: The Olympiastadion Berlin welcomed its twenty-five millionth visitors since the reopening in 2004. This morning Leo Bihlmayr und Elke Sapper from Bavaria wanted to visit the stadium and were unsuspectedly announced as anniversary visitors.

Every year over one million visitors flock to the Olympiastadion Berlin for various reasons: for national and international sporting events, for a concert, for congresses, conferences and celebrations or for a glimpse behind the scenes – as did Leo Bihlmayr and Elke Sapper this morning.

The couple from Wertingen, near Augsburg, were touring through Germany and decided to stop in Berlin to visit the Olympiastadion Berlin. Just as they bought their tickets, Timo Rohwedder, the CEO of the Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH, surprised them with flowers and a present.

“On behalf of the operating company, I would like to congratulate our twenty-five millionth visitor. We are excited that so many people visit this impressive and historic place full of emotions and enthusiasm every year.” said Timo Rohwedder as he gifted the couple a voucher for two VIP tickets to the Pyronale 2021.

Visitors can decide by themselves whether they want to visit the five-star stadium on their own or book a guided tour to follow the traces of German sports and architectural history with a knowledgeable guide.
