DFB president Grindel unveiled Buddy Bear and "Hallway of Fame"

The DFB cup final and the Olympiastadion Berlin – everything is simply marvellous! The German cup final, which is played since 1985 at Olympiastadion Berlin, is one of the largest sport events worldwide.

In the course of the 73. final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund the outstanding cooperation with the German football association has been appreciated by two attractions: DFB president Reinhard Grindel and CEO of the Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH Timo Rohwedder unveiled together the DFB cup Buddy Bear and the “Hallway of Fame”. Both sights are to attract even more visitors to the five-star stadium: “The Buddy Bear and the “Hallway of Fame” create a atmosphere, which can be experienced all over the year”, said Rohwedder.

During the Buddy Bear welcomes all visitors at the entrance , the “Hallway of Fame” can be seen and admired in the players’ tunnel directly in front of the dressing rooms: match worn jerseys of the past finals. For the president of the German football association the cup fascination is hardly linked to the Olympiastadion Berlin: “The Olympiastadion Berlin is the German Wembley. With his unique atmosphere and the special flair during the cup final, it has considerably increased that the German cup has developed so well.” Grindel said.

Since 2013 the Olympiastadion Berlin already hosts two additional exhibitions around the German cup final: the so-called “Walk of Fame” and the “Wall of Fame”. While all finals have been immortalized on the “Wall of Fame”, visitors will find the original hand and footprints of the most important cup heros on the “Walk of Fame”.
Both, Buddy Bear and “Hallway of Fame” complete the year-round presence of the DFB in the Olympiastadion Berlin and so make the German cup a year-round spot for all visitors and fans.
