The record champion Brazil beat Germany with 1-0 in the last international game before the cadre nomination for the World Cup in Russia. For the Germans, this was the first defeat after 22 undefeated games. The winning goal was scored by Brazilian Gabriel Jesus (37) from Manchester City in front of 72,717 fans in the sold-out Olympiastadion Berlin just shortly before the break.
With Germany and Brazil, first and second leading teams of the FIFA World Ranking List met directly. A real test for the preliminary World Cup squads of both nations, a true highlight for all football fans.
