Increased safety at the Olympiastadion Berlin

“Hertha BSC is taking the current situation very seriously and will – in close consultation with the security authorities, the police and the stadium staff – make additional provisions the game” said Thomas E. Herrich, member of the Board of Management of Hertha BSC. The individual measures to be taken of the extensive catalog of measures, which were discussed and agreed upon during a meeting with the relevant participants on Wednesday (18.11.15), are of course subject to discretion. However, Herrich added that “visitors whether on foot, traveling by public transport or by car, could face delays at the entrances”. Therefore, the gates will open two hours before kick-off.

In terms of overall security for and during events at the Olympiastadion Berlin, it can be added that a well-founded and very detailed security concept has been implemented for years. This security concept is coordinated with the relevant security authorities, the police and the stadium staff to fit the situation, always keeping in mind the day to day changes in threat levels to major events. This ongoing process of reevaluation is now being implemented for the game against Hoffenheim.

In general, we want to emphasize that every visitor can be sure that everything is being done to provide a safe environment during Hertha BSC home games.
