ISTAF 2016: Track and field stars on the fastest track of the world
On the occasion of the 75th ISTAF, elite athletes from all over the world met in the Olympiastadion Berlin. Among them, seven Olympic Champions from the Games in Rio: middle-distance runner Caster Semanya, javelin thrower Thomas Röhler and pole-vaulter Thiago Braz da Silva to name only a few.
At this year’s ISTAF the baton got passed on to the next generation, when Bernard Lagat and Christina Obergföll cleared the way for the young German sprint-trio consisting of Gina Lückenkemper, Lisa Mayer and Rebekka Haase.
44.500 fans celebrated this year’s Internationales Stadionfest in the Olympiastadion Berlin. Finally, colorful fireworks concluded the exciting evening – a perfect transition to the eleventh Pyronale.
