Joachim E. Thomas remains chairman of the board of the Association of German Stadium Operators
The members of the Association of German Stadium Operators (VdS) reelected Joachim E. Thomas (CEO Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH) for another two year term as the chairman of the board during the 16th VdS conference in Berlin. The term will be Thomas’ third as chairman of the VdS.
Also reelected for the two year term were the first and second deputy chairmen, Dr. Christian Hockenjos (Director Organization, CEO BVB Stadion GmbH) and Jürgen Muth (CEO Allianz Arena München Stadion GmbH).
The board was also discharged from liabilites for the last two year term. The discharge and election were unanimous votes.
Thomas thanked the members on behalf of the board for their confidence in the work done and for the reelection „ During the past two years, we have accomplished to dicuss and push on our ideas and discussions in a very goal-oriented way. This includes current and explosive topics – such as pyrotechnics in stadia – as well as problems in daily business concerning for example logistics and information technology. The very cooperative exchange of information on a national level is a success story for the stadium operators which we will keep working on in the upcoming two years and beyond.“
The Association of German Stadium Operators VdS is a collective of all operators of stadiums in the first and second division of the Bundesliga who fulfill the requirement of offering at least 20.000 seats in their stadia.
The Association is a constant lobby of their members and sees its focal points on cooperation with national and international football and sports associations, suppliers, agencies, event organizers and companies of the entertainment industry.
