New pitch at Olympiastadion Berlin

Hertha BSC and the Olympiastadion Berlin GmbH have jointly decided to renew the pitch at the Olympiastadion Berlin.

Due to the forthcoming match Hertha BSC vs FC Schalke 04, the international friendly between Germany and England on March 26, 2016 and the German cup semi-final where Hertha BSC will face off against Borussia Dortmund on April 20, the new pitch will be installed starting on March 7.

During the process, the old pitch will be milled within two and a half days, then the new pitch is delivered: 8,000 square meters dispersed over 20 trucks. Using special equipment, the pitch is rolled out just like a carpet.
