Olympiastadion Berlin officially awarded status as UEFA Elite Stadium

Just one week separated the German Cup Final and the UEFA Champions League Final at the Olympiastadion Berlin. Each event in and of its own would have been a challenge for the organizers and the stadium – this was double trouble so to speak. The Olympiastadion Berlin, a UEFA Five-Star-Stadium before the Champions League Final was able to accomplish the feat.

As a result, the Olympiastadion Berlin now has been awarded the status of “Elite Stadium”. The massive gold plaque that was accepted by CEO Peter von Löbbecke, CFO Britta Bachmann, and Director of Events Christoph Meyer on behalf of the stadium operating company is currently on display at the Olympiastadion Berlin visitor center.
