Racy, Rocking, Rammstein

The Olympiastadion Berlin has never seen such a spectacle before. A stage that stretched from inside up to the roof (!), spectacular lighting effects and a pyro show that couldn’t be overlooked and overheard several kilometres away. In short: a concert experience that will surely be remembered for a long time to come. But one thing at a time.

After the Swiss piano duo “Duo Jatekok” had opened with Rammstein songs rewritten for the piano, the band led by front singer Till Lindemann came onto the stage at 8.45 p.m. What then followed were 22 songs from throughout the band’s history and a show that rocked the stadium walls. The staging and entire interior in particular produced impressive images thanks to the elaborate lighting effects.

MORE THAN 60 TRUCKS OF EQUIPMENT

The fact that it was going to be “big” could already be guessed before the concert. More than 60 trucks full of stage parts, sound and lighting equipment parked in front of the Olympiapark Berlin stadium’s gates. The construction delivered what it promised – approx. 66,000 enthusiastic visitors left the stadium ecstatic.

Two of the four concerts have been played, followed by Metallica (6 July) and P!NK (14 July) before the German Athletics Championships (3/4 August) stop at the Olympiastadion Berlin in August. For all those who didn’t make it to the Rammstein concert, we have compiled a few impressions here.

Das wird größer als alles, was das #OlympiastadionBerlin bis jetzt gesehen hat. Wir zählen mehr als 60 Trucks. Berlin, zieh Dich warm an. 🔥👀#Rammstein | Rammstein
