“Schiffsverkehr”: The new Grönemeyer-Album for the summer tour

In line with the first interactive album presentation, Herbert Grönemeyer presented his new album „Schiffsverkehr” last Friday. After almost 20 million records and DVDs sold, 200 gold and platinum records and almost ten million spectators at his concerts, this is the 13th studio album of his storied career. There is enough time left to prepare for his performance on June 5 at the Olympiastadion Berlin. Tickets are still available.

Before the album presentation, the single release of the same name had already made headlines. „Schiffsverkehr“ was produced by Herbert Grönemeyer himself and his co-producer Alex Silva. A total of eleven songs are on the record that draw a large bow from vigorous rock titles to moving ballads.

True to the title, the journalists were invited to listen to the new songs of the album onboard the „MS Brandenburg“ on its tour on the Spree river. Herbert Grönemeyer was able to find a wonderful balance between artificial pop art and energetic rock music on the new album „Schiffsverkehr“. Musically and poetically on the highest of levels, but also catchy and stirring, the album distinguishes through terrific dynamics and a level dramaturgy. The album was conceived in different sessions at the Mono Music Studios in Stockholm, the Abbey Road Studios in London, the Hansa Ton and Hansaplatz Studios in Berlin as well as the Electric Lady Studios in New York.
