Sports Gaming Summit moves to Berlin moves to Berlin
The Olympiastadion Berlin will be the first-time host for the SPONSORs Sports Gaming Summit on March 31, 2014.
After two very successful years at the Schwielowsee Resort near Potsdam, the former invite-only congress now opens for the entire line of business. Offering a platform for constructive dialogue between representatives from the sports and gambling industry as well as the media and politics, the congress has gained even more attention after the ministry of the interior of Hesse has decided to vote against all licenses for sports wagering vendors. There is considerable uncertainty of how business will go on for the industrial sector.
„Gambling in sports is a controversial but evenly important subject for the entire line of business. The range goes from financing for professional and popular sports all the way to bet rigging. We need to have a constructive, yet controversial, open and responsible discussion“, Joachim E. Thomas, the Olympiastadion Berlin CEO emphasizes. He believes Berlin to be the ideal venue for the congress – „very close to sports, politics and the media“.
