The DFB-Pokal Final 2022 is set SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig fight for the cup

The 2022 DFB Cup final is set. SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig will fight for the title in Germany’s most important football cup competition on May 21st, 2022 in the Olympiastadion Berlin. SC Freiburg won the semi-final away against Hamburger SV 1:3. The team from the Breisgau area made it clear early in the game  and were already leading by three goals at half-time. Hamburg managed to score the consolation goal in the 88th minute – too late to turn things around. The second semi-final between RB Leipzig and 1. FC Union Berlin, on the other hand, was exciting up to the last minute. The Unioners from Berlin-Köpenick took a 0-1 lead in the first half and were able to resist the pressure from Leipzig for a long time. With a penalty kick in the 61st minute, Leipzig managed to equalize and in the second minute of stoppage time, substitute Emil Forsberg scored the winning goal. RB Leipzig is in the cup final for the third time after 2019 and 2021, while Freiburg are traveling to the Olympiastadion for the first time to fight for the cup.

First cup final with fans since 2019

This year’s DFB Cup final in the Olympiastadion Berlin is the first final with fans in the stadium since 2019. Due to the corona pandemic and the measures taken to contain it, the finals in 2020 and 2021 were held without spectators.

How do I get tickets for the cup final?

Tickets for the cup final have always been few and far between. VIP tickets in the Business Seat Football Village category are available in our online shop. Regular tickets are only available directly through the clubs. Information on tickets through SC Freiburg can be found here, information on tickets through RB Leipzig here. The Olympiastadion Berlin does not sell regular tickets.

Measures related to the corona pandemic

According to the current status, no measures will be taken for the 2022 DFB-Pokal Final. There will be no control of vaccination or recovery status. Also, there is no mask requirement. Should anything change in this regard, we will announce this in good time.
